We love visiting

 

the Science Museum.

 

Seeing all

 

the bones

 

is a must for every visit.

Morison Nature Center at Star K Ranch Nature Walk

Morison Nature Center At Star K Ranch 

Morrison Nature center has a wonderful little walking trail.

It's the perfect length

for those with shorter legs.

Scattered fallen trees

provide great places to climb and explore.

Wooden stumps make a great 

place to take a rest.

Just don't poke your friend or sibling with a stick.

You might start a war :)

The nature center also has a playroom, were they do story time, and have various puzzles and books for children to play with.

Downtown Aquarium ~ Swim with the Mermaids ~ Birthday Party

 

 

One of the best birthday parties we've ever done for any of our girls

 

 

was a swim with the mermaids birthday party at the Downtown Aquarium.

 

When I asked Stacie if she wanted a party with all her friends, 

 

or if she wanted to swim with the mermaids...

 

swimming with the mermaids won hands down.

 

It was an incredible experience.

 

All the girls enjoyed it.

 

well except maybe Shiloh, who had to watch from the sidelines

 

because she was too little.

 

The mermaid tank has a sea turtle, tuna, nurse sharks,

 

sting rays, and various other sea creatures.

 

Besides being a fantastic snorkeling experience

 

it's something the girls will never forget.

 

The dive team were incredibly helpful,

 

and did I mention the mermaids?  :o)

 

Every girl dreams of meeting a real live mermaid.

 

For a long time after that, Lindsey told people

 

she was going to be a mermaid when she grew up.

 

I guess I can't blame her.

 

Even being a Downtown Aquarium Mermaid

 

would be quite a magnificent job.

 

We love

 

the Downtown Aquarium.

 

It's one of our favorite places in the whole Denver Area!

 

Wild Animal Sanctuary January Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My!

 

Wild Animal Sancturary

 

 

The Wild Animal Sanctuary was started

 

 

in order to provide a place for animals to go and live out their lives in peace.

 

Sometimes zoo's have extra animals that spend all their lives locked in tiny cages.

 

Other times private citizens get wild animals when they are small and can no longer care for them when they get big.

 

At the Wild Animal Sanctuary an animal first starts out in a small cage, is attached to a family group,

 

and then released into a large open area to live out it's life in comfort

 

with dignity.  These animals are unable to be released into the wild, because they were never taught to survive on their own.

 

The sanctuary has constructed walkways above the animal living areas to avoid animal disturbance.

 

Once a person rises above the predator prey zone, the animal no longer notices it's existence. 

 

Allowing the person free observation without disrupting it's daily routines.

 

The concept strikes on genius.

 

What a way to coexist with the creatures we love

 

observe them up close

 

without disrupting them in a negative manner.
