Leadville Colorado and Southern Train-All Aboard

A train ride, can be a great family experience.

It's a great way to see the mountains, without having to worry about who's going to drive.

The conductor even humored us, and let us get his picture.

Something about the motion, the chug-a-chug of the train, and the shrill whistle of the train revs up your emotions and puts you in the spirit for an adventure.

What a beautiful and glorious day it was.

So picturesque and sunny.

I got some beautiful shots of the mountains.

and of the train.

  12. Wow that's a lovely experience to ride again on this vintage transports. I love the shots of the snow capped mountain at the distance. I remember during my first visit to China, the train has still that "chug-chug" sound which i thought is just getting momentum. Later i realized it was actually the normal speed!

  16. If you're ever in Oregon you'll need to take a ride on the Mt. Hood Railway. It meanders through the fruit growing regions (pear, apple, cherry) and blossom season is fabulous.
