One of my family's favorite summer activities, is a trip to Elitches Gardens amusement park.  This year we invited our friends and their family join us.  Having them along made for double the fun.

The Denver Public Library has a summer reading program with tickets to Elitches being one of the rewards.  It's a fantastic way to keep kids reading.  What a great way to make family memories.

If you've ever watched a movie, with a runaway mine cart scene,

 

and wondered what it might be like to ride in one yourself ...

 

my imagination tells me,

 

it might be similar to riding one of these.

 

Minus the seat belts of course ;)

 

When it comes to safety though.

 

I think I'll opt for seatbelts.

 

The gold runner was a pretty fun coaster.

 

Different from any other one I've ridden. Great times!

Whenever I think of Boon Docks, I think of bumper boats.

 

Perhaps, its the most visible thing from the highway as you drive by.

 

what ever the case, they sure do capture the attention of the kiddos.

 

For those with the need for speed,

 

go karts is a great option for satisfying that need.

 

Nothing like the rumble of an engine to get those competitive juices flowing.

 

The kiddie cove is great for children who love to climb.

 

Then of course there's the arcade.

 

Endless hours of fun at Boon Docks.

Children love amusement parks. 

 

Whether they be GRAND and INTRICATE like Disney,

 

or simple and charming like your local carnival,

 

They all hold a certain intrigue.

 

Even for those of us, whose fascination has somewhat diminished from what it once held in our younger years.

 

We still love to see the joy on our children's faces as they partake in the festivities.

 

Their pleasure is brand new,

 

 

and full of life.

 

What a wonder, it would be like to rediscover the novelty of youth :)
