Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak

Not many people

have the stamina

and lung capacity

to actually climb a 14 er.

Fortunately

a couple mountains have road

all the way to the top.

The air up there is a little thin...

so if you're out of shape,

even a walk across the parking lot

can leave you

huffing and puffing.

Another option is taking the train!

Either way it's still alot easier than a full day hike.

Mt Evans ~ Colorado 14-ers ~ Drive to the Top Instead of Climbing

Climbing a 14,000 ft mountain is quite a feat.

If you've not attempted one before, Mt. Evans is a great one to start with.

As you can see, roads run nearly to the summit.

Making for a fairly easy climb at the end of a lovely car ride.

Now that's climbing in style.

If you're lucky you might see the mountain sheep that reside in the area.

Afternoons tend to get a little rainy and cloudy,  so plan for chilly weather

even during the summer.

I love the views from the top.

I'm told you can see all the way to Wyoming.
