St. Vrain State Park

St. Vrain State Park

I grew up seeing Twin Peaks from very close to St. Vrain State Park.

You could see them from nearly everywhere in the city.

I'm sure I took them for granted,

and It wasn't until I moved away for college,

in Wisconsin, that I realized how incredibly

beautiful my mountains were.

Living back in Colorado, has been amazing and incredible,

but I don't get up North

as often

as I'd like

to see

the beautiful

Twin Peaks.

Not complaining

Denver has

many beautiful

views

of the mountains.

I'm just super attached to these too. What do you think?  Aren't they pretty spectacular?

Bakersville Waterfall Hike

This beautiful waterfall is one of the many you

can see on your drive up I 70 into the mountains from Denver.

Upon spotting it one day, we decided

we might it might be a really good hike.

In both beauty

and challenge

our hike didn't

disappoint.

In some ways,

it actually exceeded

expectations.

I really never been

afraid of heights,

or climbing.

As a child I was always the first or second one to climb an obstacle course,

or jump a stream.  When they say having kids makes you more cautious ,

I had no idea, it would catch up to me on this hike.

My center of balance has changed, and somewhere near the top I slipped and realized...

What goes up must come down.  Needless to say,  we found an alternate route down and I'm becoming a little more cautious in my old age :0)

Georgetown Picnic in the Park

Georgetown

One of my favorite

summertime activities

is a picnic in the park.

A rock'n

playground nearby

is just the thing

to make sure your picnic is a

success for the little people.

Salads,

sandwiches

and sweets

make the

bigger people

happy.

Anyway

around it,

a little

bit of

sunshine

is good

for

everyone.
