Chalk Falls

 

 

I'd love to tell you the tail about two heart joined in one. This is the.place where they pledged

 

their true love ~ To go on together as one.

 

The soldier asked the maid to marry him right at this very spot.

 

She answered him yes and they were married that summer.

Me and my family made this hike so I could get some good pictures of the waterfall, so I could paint it for them.

 

It's a beautiful hike, albeit a little treacherous.

 

As they say in Spanish vale la pena ~ definitely worth the effort.

 

The wildflowers are always beautiful.  I believe this is a Shooting Star.

 

Even the little one's like to walk sometimes.

Denver City Park ~ Who's up for a Stroll in the Park?

Variety is the SPICE of LIFE so its said.

 

and just as it holds true in the case of clothes and food,

 

visiting a different park for a change is a great deal of fun

 

and something we like to do from time to time.

 

City park isn't just any park, by any means.  With the Science Museum on one side, and the Zoo on the other.

 

Wandering paths meandering in and around the lake,

 

Flowers and birds scattered through out the park.

 

Did I mention play grounds?

 

What's a park without a playground.

 

Oh and a splash park, yes its under construction at the moment... but still

 

Who doesn't love a splash park?

 

What a wondrous place for a stroll in the park.

 

We love City Park.

Considering that we have four girls running around our house,

 

I'm sure you're not surprised when I say that a visit to the doll museum was a big hit!

 

But before I go any further, let me just say, photographing the exhibits is prohibited, so I got permission to snap a few shots in the play areas.

 

Play areas! What a grand idea!! Whoever thought of scattering toy areas

 

through out the museum was brilliant!!!

 

Little fingers often itch to touch, examine, and play with.

 

after all,  isn't that what toys are for? We might have made a much more hurried trip

through the museum, spackled with moments of whining and unpleasantness.

 

Instead our trip was filled with joy and pleasantness.  Thanks for the wonderful day!  We will most assuredly be back for more friendly visits :)

is to find some water and go for a dip...

 

or in this case, run through the spray.

Mother Cabrini Shrine ~ The Stairway of Prayers

Hiking the Stairway of Prayers has been on my bucket list for quite some time.

 

We've passed it a number of times on our way up and down from Leadville.

 

Never seeming to have enough time to stop. 

 

So this summer, we decided to run over after swimming lessons. 

 

This put us there in the bright summer afternoon sunshine.

 

Aside from being a little warm, it was the perfect time of day for a climb.

 

Fortunately for shorter legs, there are benches scattered all along the pathway to the top.  As you can see the view is quite spectacular from up there.  Don't forget to check out pictures of the Cathedral.

When it comes to architecture, some of the most ornate

 

structures built,

 

are cathedrals.

 

All the detail and design show forth all their dazzle.
