Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater-How many steps are there?

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater

It's said that a person standing on the stage can speak

to a person standing on the top row,

without raising his voice.

We were unable to test this theory, due to a local group of instrumentalist taking advantage of the great acoustics.

They sounded amazing without any kind of microphones.

What an incredible place.

If I ever needed to perform(something that lies outside my scope of talents, making it an unlikely event), I would like to perform here.

Such a neat place.

Growing up in the area, I regret not having experience it's wonders sooner, and so relish the opportunity since it occurrence.

Calvary Episcopal Church in Golden

Ornate Architecture is one of the many things that capture my attention.

Calvary Episcopal Church was definitely a fascinating find.

The arches and flowers join in chorus creating a spectacular display.

So simple, ornate, and beautiful all at the same time.

How is that possible?

Something to ponder, and ponder again.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater

If you've ever visited Garden of the Gods, or Roxborough State Park, you know they're places, you can visit again, and again, and again.

The beautiful red rocks, and geological formations are incredible.

This one even has a tunnel through it.

The girls loved hiking

and climbing

in through and around

the rocks

and caverns.

A future post will show you the wonders of the Natural Amphitheater.

Chatfield Botanic Gardens - The Barn, The Animals, and the Windmill

Chatfield Botanic Gardens

City folk enjoy giving their children a taste of country life every now and then.

The Chatfield Botanic Gardens farm site, is a beautiful place to explore.

We enjoyed teasing the sheep.

Peering in at them.

Walking the fence line.

The windmill.

Beautiful Barn

Testing the wagon.

And peering in the windows of the historic farm house.

Chatfield Botanic Gardens-The School House, The Siloh, and The Treehouse

Chatfield Botanic Gardens

Something about one-room school houses intrigue  me.

Simple yet sturdy architectural structure.

Of all the places we've been in Denver, the Chatfield Botanical Gardens ranks right up there with the Downtown Aquarium, for most requested repeat adventures.

My girls loved this place.

They didn't care much for the unique buildings, beautiful scenery, or historical aspects.

The Tree House on the other hand was a big hit!!!

They loved it.  We could have stayed there for hours (actually we did).

My fascination however, as mentioned before, was captivated by the beautiful farm structures.

I love this simple lopsided barn.  The different wood tones paired with the foothills in the background.  Sooo Beautiful.

What a wonderful place.
