are a great tool

for getting children's 

creative juices flowing.

 

Every child dreams

of having the story they are reading 

come alive.

Storyland

brings these fantasies 

to life in such a spectacular way.

 I was so disappointed to hear that this was one of the things the University of Colorado

would be discontinuing :(

The aquariums and outdoor animals had already been removed by the time we were able to visit.  :(

Fish come in 

many different

sizes and shapes,

sporting every different

color of the rainbow.

One, namely the

 

Harlequin Tusk

even has 

blue teeth.

Quite a feisty little fellow he is too.  He's even been know to kill other fish for encroaching on his territory.

Of all the restaurants,

my daughter could 

have chosen

for her birthday,

this is the one that she chose.

Not that I'm complaining.  

They have some killer shrimp cocktail.

Their garlic shrimp meatballs were pretty amazing too.

A Day at the Downtown Aquarium with Christine

The Downtown Aquarium

has to be 

one of my favorite places

in the entire 

city of Denver.

I can't imagine why,

 

given my slight saltwater addiction

to everything ocean related.

 

So, when my friend Christine 

came for a visit

I'm sure no one was surprised,

when my first recommendation

was a visit to

 

to the Downtown Aquarium.

The mermaid show is always

fun to watch,

and her

daughter

was simply mesmerized with all the bright colors and fish.

Sanctuary Welcome Center

The Wildlife Santuary

The wildlife Sanctuary

got itself some

a pretty sweet

new welcome center.

Comoplete with

statues,

a home theater,

conference rooms, 

a gift shop,

and a snack bar.

For those of you who visited before the new addition, this is a big deal. 

The new additions are amazing.  Keep 'em coming.
