Downtown Breckenridge ~ Flowers

Breckenridge

Just like every great tourist town,

Breckenridge has a downtown strip,

filled with all those quaint little tourist shops.

Along with that comes window boxes,

and mini gardens.

Love the beautiful

floral displays,

statues,

and fancy Victorian houses.

Tourist towns are so much fun!

Adventures in Cusco Peru ~Saqsaywaman ~ Inca Ruins

Saqsaywaman

The Inca people were an agricultural people.

Because of this, they monitored the heavenly bodies.

Many of their structures line up with sunrises, sunsets, and other celestial bodies.

Their architecture is amazing.  The ability to cut, move, and fit stones,

of such great size,

without the use of modern equipment is astounding.

Truly an amazing feat.

The sun festival is held in this large grassy area.

Don't you love the Llamas and Alpacas?

Though it's difficult to tell the difference between the two, there are a few distinguishing features.

Size:  Llamas are much larger.
Fur:  Alpacas have much softer fur.
Ears: Llamas have banana shaped curved ears.

Adventures in Cusco Peru ~Palto y Pizza ~ Peruvian Cuisine

Peruvian Cuisine

Have you ever seen an avocado nearly the size of a football?

I had no idea they could get that big.  Palto, the peruvian word for Avocados, are plentious in Peru.

The McDonalds in the Lima Airport had a Palto Sandwich.

Since I'm a big fan of Avocados...

I had many avocado tomato sandwiches while I was there.

The kiddos however, were more inclined to want pizza.  Fortunately being a tourist town, pizza is

on nearly every street corner.  Ours was baked in this lovely clay oven.  Yum!
